Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright apples, some oak. A bit of funk.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Bright woody and apple notes that are quickly taken over by the bourbon elements. Some barrel-aging and spirit astringency.
After Taste: Apples reduces more as the barrelling is slightly stronger. Finishes with a kiss of vanilla at the end.
On ice: Thinner and less barrel elements
Additional Notes: Slabtown’s Bourbon Vanilla is a barrel-aged offering that’s bright and woody. It’s not as intense as other bourbon barrel-aged offerings we’ve had and it’s easier to consume – even at 9%. Vanilla makes an appearance at the end. Smells different than it tastes. More about the elements than the apples.
