Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Bitter sharp apples that are fleshy in nature. Some acidity.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation and some acidity. Bitter sharp apples that are fleshy with some mild tannic notes. Very clean with mixed apples characteristics (Red with hints of yellow and green).
After Taste: Becomes more dry as apple flavour dissipates. Slightly less clean with some fermentation and acidic notes as it finishes.
On ice: Bubbles and mouthfeel from carbonation greatly reduced. Slightly more acidic
Additional Notes: The Bittersharp from Slabtown is exactly that, slightly acidic apples that have fleshy elements and a mix of apple note flavours. Not sweet, it is extra clean and finishes quite dry. Not overly juicy, it’s a great example of something that is not sweet, but still apple forward and quite traditional in production quality and values in Ontario.
