Niagara College Teaching Winery – Gastronomy
Cider Profile:
Name: Niagara College Teaching Winery – Les Marmitons Gastronomy Cider
Sampled May 2022
Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Red wine with slight apple elements.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Off-dry dessert apples appear quickly and are met with a light, red-wine offering. Extra smooth with a touch of tannic elements that dissipate. Some oakiness.
After Taste: Becomes more red-wine like but without any harsh elements. Some light grittiness comes through in the dry ending. Has some tangy elements – possibly from cranberry juice.
On ice: Juicier on ice, less wine elements.
Additional Notes: The Les Marmitons Gastronomy Cider by the Niagara College Teaching Winery is a balanced red wine and cider blend that is easy to drink. With elements from both off-dry but juicy apples and a slightly tannic but smooth red wine, this blended offering has a little bit of everything.
