Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong, extra sweet smell. Aromas of Bartlett pear and vanilla. Quite a juicy-pear smell.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation and acidity. Quite sweet with strong mixture of Bartlett and yellow pear flavours. Hints of bitterness from Bartlett pears.
After Taste: Strong pear flavour continues and becomes more candied flavour in nature. Flavour remains in the mouth for a while. Slightly thick consistency. Sugar residue/foam in the mouth. Hints of a ginger-ale flavour and sensation in the finish.
On ice: Only a minor reduction in carbonation and flavour – with less bitter notes emerging.
Additional Notes: Molson Canadian’s Pear Cider delivers on its name, providing a medley of strong pear flavours – especially that of an overripe Bartlett pear. Quite sweet and rich, it has noticeable natural and artificial sugars in the cider. It may be a good introduction to perries for the new and/or only commercially-based cider fan. It aligns with the style of other Molson Cider offerings.
