Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Sweet dessert apples w/ some pulpy elements. Very effervescent.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Sweet caramelized dessert apples. Some tannic and bitter sharp apple notes.
After Taste: Becomes drier, and sweetness reduces. More bittersharp apples and some vanilla/caramel notes present. Exits the mouth somewhat fast.
On ice: Less apple flavour, somewhat reduced.
Additional Notes: The Kupela is a fresh apple-tasting cider collaboration from the Basque region of Spain and a company from France. Unlike many other Basque ciders, it’s very apple forward, quite clean (filtered) and light. Sweet but not quite sugary, light in AVB at 4%. This would be an easy transition from a commercial cider to something a bit more traditional.
