Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium earthy, almost wheat-bread like aroma. Damp and woody notes.
Initial Taste: No bite. Tangy, sweet and earthy flavours amongst the single variety apple taste.
After Taste: Builds quickly, becomes more tangy and wood-like. Scrumpy characteristics very prevalent, has some grittiness. More acidic and vinegar-like the more you consume. Very dry finish.
On ice: Thinner consistency on ice. Little change flavour-wise.
Additional Notes: The Kings Mill’s still scrumpy is a unique offering, but possibly would not appeal to the newer cider consumer. With earthy, tangy and vinegar-like characteristics, it is far from commercial and very close to a standard British scrumpy offering. You really taste the flavours infused in by-way of the fermentation processes, and you only really get a single apple flavour in this one. This is a good way to introduce yourself to the infamous super-dry scrumpy that many Brits love so much!
