Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Funky, acetic, dry apples. Some wine and prune notes. Cellaring.
Initial Taste: Strong bite, lively carbonation.  Dry peel apple with some tannic elements – lots of funk and acidity.   Wine-like elements are present with red fruit notes.
After Taste: Becomes less apple based and a little more fermentation-like.  Lingers a long time and as the acidity drops out has some more funky and earthy notes.  Very cellered at the end, with a bit of a barnyard funk and more plum notes to finish on.
On ice: Slightly smoother and cleaner.

Additional Notes:  The Cidre Intrus – j’ai un project, devenir fou (i have a project, to go crazy) is a cider that embodies the name. Lots of elements, this funky, lively wine and plum blend has acidity, tannins and character.  As the apple base drops off, more fermentation notes come through with a dank, earthy aftertaste. Blended with a Marquette wine, the plum becomes more noticeable in the back of the mouth, somewhat fresh.
