Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Mild aroma. Pulpy raspberry. Some sharp apple elements.
Initial Taste: Medium bite. Semi-dry and funky apples that are sharp and slightly bright. Earthy, early season raspberry. Some fleshy elements and some tannic notes.
After Taste: Become more woodsy in aftertaste, with a bit more dryness. Doesn’t really linger (some of the wild fermentation elements do though).
On ice: Thinner and a lot less overall flavour. Muted.
Additional Notes: Heartwood’s Raspy Poet is a fermentation forward, funky element leading cider with a touch of infuse-tasting (not juicy) raspberry. It has a lot of earth and woody elements that clear out and finish with mostly fermentation notes (no apple or raspberry in the aftertaste). This is mostly about the bottle conditioning and the fermentation, less about the fruit flavours.
