Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Strawberry and black tea with wispy vanilla notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Semi-sweet and tart apple that has some sharp notes to it, along with fresh, juicy, early-season tasting strawberry. Tangy.
After Taste: Apple fades and tea notes become slightly more pronounced in the aftertaste. Some tannins (apple and tea) and creamy vanilla taste right at the finish. A tingly, easy, light finish.
On ice: Slightly less apple and tanginess.
Additional Notes: The Freckled Countess by Heartwood Farm and Cidery is a unique, tangy apple forward and strawberry cider. The strawberry hits you very quickly upfront and strongly, followed soon by the tangy apple notes. Black tea tannins and flavours come near the end, with a mild vanilla creaminess right at the finish. A very clean and thoughtful cider.
