Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium musty aroma with notes of fruity currants
Initial Taste: Mild bite from carbonation. Noticeable acidity. Deep wild oak and wood flavours. Maple syrup hints. Some sour apple flavours.
After Taste: Currant flavour becomes prominent, being sour and tangy. Some bitter, musty and earthy notes. Dry finish. Long-lingering ‘nature’ and earthy notes.
On ice: Cuts carbonation and becomes thinner. More apple flavours noticeable. Not as dry-feeling.
Additional Notes: Heartwood’s Currant Affair is a rustic, back-ended cider with the majority of the currant flavour coming in the aftertaste. While not overly complex, it still fairly full-flavoured. It has Heartwood’s signature wild-esque earthy nature tastes to it, as all ingredients come from their land. Not overly fruity, but it does represent currant flavours well.
