Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium, sweet sugary aroma – with a bit of astringency and harshness found in most iced ciders.  Has a slight tangy and fermented old apple smell.
Initial Taste: No bite but a sharp kick of tangy apple and astringency. Some dessert and crab apple characteristics.
After Taste: Harshness reduces and becomes extra smooth and slightly thicker and sweet. Some spices similar to cinnamon and clove found in the aftertaste. Tangy and sweet finish.
On ice: All the tanginess is removed, becomes very smooth. Aftertaste dissipates quicker.

Additional Notes:  Having more of a true apple flavour than a lot of normal hard ciders – and most iced ciders- have, the Great Cider Iced Cider is smoother and easier to drink then other ice ciders we have tried – especially on ice.  It somewhat mimics the fruit filling in a warm apple pie. Reminds us of walking though an orchard, with that crisp winter air taste and sensation coming to mind.  For more astringency and harshness, drink neat, but for a considerably smoother experience from start to finish, drink on ice. Deserving of its recent Gold Medal win at the 2018 Cider Craft Awards!
