Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Sweet dessert apples with lychee notes from the hops.Slight hop bitterness.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Sweet, smooth apples. Crisp and quite juicy with a lot of pulpy notes. Hops are smooth and more fruity in nature. Somewhat floral with a little earthiness.
After Taste: As the apple dissipates, more earthy elements become noticeable. Long lingering notes with a touch of film that seems like it is hops residue.
On ice: Brighter on ice. More candied with less earthiness. Sharper flavours.
Additional Notes: The Back Forty by Generations Cider Co. is an homage to the lot found at the back of the Crucican apple orchard where the cider is housed. A sweet, lychee/tropical fruit note focused hopped cider, it is crisp and pulpy with a little earthiness to it. A somewhat long-lingering aftertaste. On ice, it becomes a lot cleaner with less earthiness, which might be attractive to some. We typically suggest not to add ice to ciders, but this one is preferred colder.
