Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Funky. Slightly bright blend of apples
Initial Taste: Medium bite from acidity. Sharp acidity, fermentation and alcoholic notes to start. Slightly citrus and quite sour. Muddled apples that taste unfiltered.
After Taste: Becomes less sharp and much more creamy. Apples become cleaner and more defined but still hold a lot of alcoholic elements and taste.
On ice: Lighter and overall much cleaner.

Additional Notes:  The 2020 Fledging Sur Lie by FieldBird is an acidic, sharp and farmhouse funk tasting blended apple offering.  It starts off with a lot of elements going on, but becomes cleaner, creamier and smoother in the long-lingering aftertaste.  Tastes like an 8.4%, and is much lighter overall when on ice. More sour than your average cider but not necessarily in the ‘sour cider’ category.
