Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Semi-acidic and pulply with tart berries. Some sour and astringency notes.
Initial Taste: Light bite from a natural carbonation. Slightly tart and then creamy apples and sea buckthorn berries start to take over. Fermentation up-front with apples that are dry and semi-acidic. Not sweet at all.
After Taste: Apple dissipates and overall feeling is long lasting and easier to consume. Some sour notes that stay.
On ice: Thinner, less tart and sour. More berry focused.
Additional Notes: This golden-inspired offering (light berries, not dark), is semi-acidic and pulply with dry and tart apples. The Domaine Sainte Famille’s Famille Amalgame Argousier is a sea buckthorn berry cider with a lot of elements. Becoming less apple forward, the little tart and sour yellow berries are key but not all of what this cider brings. Smoother on ice if it’s a bit much.
