Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Funky, farmhouse apple. Dry and is effervescent.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Creamy and funky apples. Starts semi-sweet and becomes quite farmhouse-like. Bright and slightly tannic.
After Taste: Apples dissipate and become more peel-focused in the aftertaste. Somewhat long lingering but not overly pungent. Fermentation elements noticeable in the finish.
On ice: Slightly less apple. Less funk and smoother.
Additional Notes: The Taper La Trail by Le Grand Saint Charles is a blend of various Quebec apples. Its funky and dry with a natural apple sweetness. Long lingering but not pungent, it’s on the acidic side and not a beginner cider. If you want a little umpf, this has it.. Some trub present. A good example of a newer emerging style from Quebec producers.
