Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Sweet pulpy and syrupy apple with some cellar notes.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Bitter sweet apples with some slight earthy notes. Cellar, aged aspects.
After Taste: Dryness builds and dissipates, leaving a slight film and sweet, syrupy finish. Tannins linger. Slight smokey notes.
On ice: Dramatically watered down, avoid in most cases.
Additional Notes: A little more traditional apple forward then other Normandy ciders, the Cidre Bouche Bio Brut by Cidre du Marotière is full bodied and semi-sweet. A little bit of syrupy notes and feel (traditional in a Normandy-style cider) compliment the sharp dry roughness of the cider. It’s smoother than it smells, it has very rustic, late-season apple elements to it that match the richness of the colour. Tannic and very satisfying for the style.
