Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Pulpy apple, some white grape and raw honey.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Murky soft apples with slight raw honey and a bit of white grapes to start. Some sour elements
After Taste: Apple dissipates and becomes more funky, earthy and white wine focused. Pretty long-lingering. Some wine astringency that stays.
On ice: Dramatically less sour on ice, more wine-like
Additional Notes: The Collective Arts Brewing Limited x Rosewood Winery and Meadery collaboration series called Cross Acres has two (at least initial) offerings and this is their Gewürztraminer offering, It is a pulpy and thick wine/cider/honey blend that is very cloudy in appearance. It’s somewhat murky/cloud/dank to start with some sour apples that are overtaken by a wine-like finish. Honey keeps it sweeter but not sugary. A very different offering and at 8.1%
