Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Cellared apples with a mix of acidity and slight fermentation elements.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Semi-sharp apples with some sweet but not sugary elements. A little bit of acidity but overall quite clean. Somewhat soft – with some barreling and fermentation notes present.
After Taste: Becomes a bit softer and smoother, resulting in a semi-long lingering aftertaste of clean, pulpy apple.
On ice: Carbonation reduced and overall flavour is diminished.
Additional Notes: Cold Creek Vineyard’s Hera’s Sacred Tree (2021) is a soft, light offering that’s easy to drink but higher in alcohol than you would think. Made with golden delicious apples, you get some of the softer, more balanced acidity and tannins that the fruit is known for. It smells a lot different then it tastes, this semi-sharp apple has a pulpy finish. Apple present forward but also mellow in nature. Soft and very clean. Cold Creek’s softest, most sessionable cider in our opinion.
