Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium, sweet pineapple juice smell with crisp, clean apple aromas. Some mustiness and fermentation notes.
Initial Taste: Mild bite. Quick pineapple flavour. Tangy and sweet. Some slight bitter notes.
After Taste: Pineapple flavour mostly dissipates quickly. Apple & cider tastes comes through strong. Long lingering ‘Brickworks Cider’ taste. Residue remains from the pineapple sugars.
On ice: Carbonation is cut and flavour is weakened.
Additional Notes: Brickwork’s Hawaii Five Eh looks like a freshly poured pineapple juice, in how cloudy and vivid yellow it is. With a fast pineapple flavour on the nose, it quickly shows its apple flavours, turning into a standard Brickworks apple cider. It almost tastes like somebody poured pineapple juice into their Batch 1904 cider, rather than being infused during the brewing process.
