Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong, aroma. Bright strawberry. Hints of rhubarb. Semi-sweet apple.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Semi-sharp apples that are peel forward. Then followed by a smooth, creamy strawberry with balanced fresh, semi-earthy and dank rhubarb. Sharp, acidic here.
After Taste: Apple dissipates leaving more rhubarb than strawberry, however peel elements remain. Becomes slightly more dry with little sweetness. Long-lasting aftertaste
On ice: Slight decline in sharpness, not much overall changed
Additional Notes: Banjo Cider’s #1 cider in their hard cider line up is the Wildflower. Although without any stated floral elements, it’s a blend of fresh and earthy strawberries with rhubarb among a sharp, slightly tannic and punchy apple. Balanced all the way though, there is a lot of journey as the apple dissipates and the other elements become more noticeable in the aftertaste. Lots of traditional elements in this – very farm to table.
