Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: A mostly strong tart and earthy raspberry with light, slightly sour apple.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite from carbonation. Snap dank and earthy raspberry notes – that changes quickly to tart and acidic raspberries, raspberry leaf notes included. Some dessert golden apple notes.
After Taste: Becomes a more traditional raspberry and cleaner. Also a more prominent apple base that is almost like from a concentrate, that lingers a long time. Somewhat thick but not syrupy. Semi-sweet finish.
On ice: Carbonation and flavour reduced, slightly less acidic.
Additional Notes: Archibald’s Hard Raspberry has three distinct elements: 1) a sharp, dank raspberry that 2) turns acidic and tart. and 3) the apple base starts to become present and grows as the aftertaste lingers. Slightly thick and very apple “golden” apple forward. A more traditional cider opposed to a commercially-oriented raspberry cider that has a lot of body.
