Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Sweet orange creamsicle. All orange candied smell, no apple.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Followed by a cloying orange cream with some vanilla elements to it. Minimal dessert apple, with a tiny bit of tang (which also is present in the orange).
After Taste: Aftertaste grows, becoming more and more “creamsicle” like in the very long lasting finish. Maybe a hint of orange juice. Apple is gone pretty quickly.
On ice: Reduced body and flavour. Less apple to it and therefore less tangy.
Additional Notes: The 1911 Creamsicle could be very easily mistaken for the melted version of the frozen drink. With only a touch of dessert apple upfront, it’s candied, sweet and creamy with a hint of tanginess. Some vanilla notes emerge more in the very long lasting aftertaste. The candy portion grows long after you finish/swallow it. It’s definitely a novelty cider, not for the purists but very unique.
