Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma of sweet, bright but also rustic and earthy apples
Initial Taste: No bite. Sweet, thick creamy apple base. Some tart elements with a bit of funk. Lots of tannins. A bit of spice from the barreling in red wine barrels.
After Taste: Long lingering aftertaste. Becomes cleaner, more tart and green apple like. Juicer into the finish.
On ice: Not much of a difference, slightly more woody and tart
Additional Notes: An easy to drink still cider, The Brooker’s Batch 4 Barrel Fermented and Aged Wild Farmhouse Cider (2020) is a unique cider that starts thick and creamy and becomes much more juicy and green apple as it goes. Red wine oak barrels give some spice and earthiness, though overall it’s very clean and tannic. Sticks around on the palate long time.
