Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Funky acetic apples with hints of fresh fig.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Quick funk and acidity, followed by syrupy fig liqueur-esque notes & heavier mouthfeel. Some juicy fig flesh as well. Pulpy apples. Raisin-like undertones.
After Taste: Stronger elements reduce, making way for a creamier fig. Pulpy apple base doesn’t reduce much. Notes linger awhile. Some fermentation notes stay also.
On ice: Thinner body. Less intensity but good fig notes remain – maybe with more clarity.

Additional Notes:  401 Cider’s Fig Seasonal Cider starts off decently heavy and strong, with a lot of bold fig notes. Just like eating the fruit, it has a syrupy, fig liquor-like note to it. The fig becomes creamier at the finish. The base is a pulpy apple that remains mostly static. Strong alcohol/fermentation notes and some funk help define this as well, with mild raisin and date undertones. Fans of Trappist Beers may appreciate this cider.
