Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Musty and funky pear
Initial Taste: Medium bite. Some upfront fermentation notes. Acidic pear with some bitterness. Some woodland earthy notes. Some tangy elements.
After Taste: Harsher elements reduce dramatically and become juicy and more pear focused. Mild and smooth finish that is slightly sweet.
On ice: Almost all tanginess is reduced. Less Pear
Additional Notes: The Norfolk Perry by Front Road Ciderworks is a lovely golden yellow perry that has some funk, acidity and harsher elements to start but clears out very quickly becoming an extra smooth and somewhat clean finish. Slightly tangy and with a heavier mouthfeel, it’s much less pear focused when on-ice. This one has a little bit of everything at times, but still remains very pear focused, especially at the end. A rustic, seemingly-old world inspired with modern touches perry.
