Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Musty and astringent pear with some acetic notes. Mild floral and herb aspects.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Slightly funky pear skin that’s got some dry notes. Punchy herb notes and slight floral notes.
After Taste: Quickly turns completely to the gin elements as pear notes almost disappear. Very juniper focused here. Pear makes a slight reappearance later as the gin flavour elements dissipates. Somewhat long lingering.
On ice: Overall reduced dramatically. Loses some punch.
Additional Notes: The Pear-ilous is a blended cider by Ev’s Eclectics – with a dry, somewhat gritty pear, that is blended with bold gin botanicals. It’s a journey cider that switches from pear to botanicals back to pear. Punchy herb and floral notes, in particular juniper, define this perry. A somewhat sour and punchy experience that can have sharp and bitter moments to it.
