Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Sweet with semi-acidic and funky apples.
Initial Taste: Light bite, from acidity. Slightly acidic and lightly tart apples. Some harsh and earthy elements yet still smooth and clean compared other ciders of this style. Some brief bitterness.
After Taste: Sweetness grows as does tartness. Acidity reduces as time goes on. Finishes drier with banana notes.
On ice: Reduced funky elements. More crisp and watered down.
Additional Notes: The Funkhaus by Farmgate has a light, semi-acidic taste and flavour that moves from a acidic and tart start, to a cleaner, smoother and only tart apple base in the aftertaste. Much more sessionable than most “funk” ciders, it finished slightly dry with some Sauvignon Blanc elements. On ice, it removed a lot of the characteristics of the offering.
