Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Slightly funky peach pit.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Sweet and syrupy peach elements. Clean to start, slightly sugary amongst an aged peach juice. Some fermentation and funk notes.
After Taste: As carbonation reduces, it becomes a bit more syrupy with a long lasting, slightly earthy finish. Peach is overripe.
On ice: Slightly reduced carbonation and body. Smoother.
Additional Notes: The Peach Cider by Puddicombe is rather unique Ontario peach cider as it does not contain apples. Sweet and syrupy, it’s somewhat clean and it finishes slightly earthy. The peach itself is not a traditional or candied peach – it’s thick and slightly dank, tasting aged and with fermentation notes present. Between the sweet elements and the funk/dank notes, its a contrasting cider with a lot happening on the palate.
