Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Semi-musty, slightly earthy, mature apple. Some effervescence.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Some tartness and acidity that shows up right after carbonation reduces. Dry, somewhat apple forward and quite naturally astringent. Red-peel notes.
After Taste: Becomes more acidic and less apple focused, less sour, with more bitterness. Finishes with a slight film. Fermentation elements are present at the finish.
On ice: Less carbonation and overall intensity and apple elements reduced. Less sour.
Additional Notes: Archibald’s Hard Core Cider at 8% packs a punch. It is very unique for an Ontario dry cider and is slightly earthy and astringent. Its a very element and fermentation note forward cider, with apple almost being secondary. Finishes dry and lingers a long time, where the more you drink the more you notice the red apple peel flavour and tannic grit. Not a beginner cider, but one for an experienced cider drinker.
