Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Sweet and creamy tannic apple that is bright.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Strong creamy and caramelized apples that are extra smooth. On the sweeter side but not sugary.
After Taste: Becomes slightly more tannic and remains very apple forward. Remains on the palate for a long time with little reduction in taste. Mild wood and cellar notes.
On ice: Slightly reduced taste.
Additional Notes: The Cuvée Madeline (2019) is a very apple forward cider that is full bodied and really pops in terms of flavour and mouthfeel. The barrel-aging really helps to make the apple stand out but does not significantly alter the taste of the cider. Soft and easily consumable, it was described to us a Brittany (French) style cider crossed with an Irish-inspired cider. Substitute for champagne, especially for fancy occasions.
