Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Tangy lime zest with some floral hibiscus. Slightly woody/dank/earthy.
Initial Taste: Medium sensation from carbonation that is tonic-like 0- including taste. Quick, deep hibiscus flavour. Tangy lime zest and some crisp apples.
After Taste: Deep floral, bouquet hibiscus flavour continues the same. Tonic notes amplify and end on those. Mild lime zest lingers but overall not long lingering.
On ice: Thinner mouth-feel and less carbonation. Reduced lime tanginess, apple crispness, and hibiscus grittiness.
Additional Notes: The Brickworks Hibiscus and Lime Spritzer, while it has apple cider in the drink, is really not a cider. From the start, it has that tonic spritzer base that you can taste and feel, and it also ends strongly that way. The drink has a very earthy, natural hibiscus flavour so if you don’t like hibiscus in other drinks like tea, you will not like this. The lime zest adds a unique zippy, tangy character that lights up the natural tonic and hibiscus flavours. Fits well into the emerging category of hard seltzers, with a more fruit-based, juice-like twist.
