Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Very apple forward. Rather sweet, creamy dessert apples. Tangy and some earthiness.  Has some pear-like aroma.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from acidity and carbonation. Quickly apple forward. Tangy. Sweet with some bitter tannins. Fleshy apple.
After Taste: Apple flavour continues and lingers. Crisp, juicy apple medley with some pear notes. Ends semi-dry.
On ice: Slightly less carbonation. Flavour remains the same.

Additional Notes:  Spy’s Golden Eye offering is a very bold cider that has a lot of full-bodied elements that work well together. A prime example of the emerging Ontario cider style definition – of being semi-sweet with enough tannins to make it smooth, non-cloying, with a lot of depth.  A very apple forward cider, it is rather crisp, smooth and tangy. Quite enjoyable.
