Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Earthiness and mustiness among the sweet apple notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from acidity. Astringent, earthy and light oak/wood notes. Medley of apple flavours that included heritage and dessert variety flavours. Tannins tingle the mouth. Honey notes.
After Taste: Apples flavour continue and become stronger. Becomes more tangy with some lingering tannins. Semi-dry finish.
On ice: Carbonation is reduced, as well as significant flavour.
Additional Notes: Duntroon’s Standing Rock is a very approachable, middle-of-the-road cider, that we feel would satisfy both new, more ‘commercially-oriented’ cider fans; as well as more experienced cider fans who like it dry and astringent. This is a very apple-forward cider that features a lot of additional flavour notes to make it a solidly sophisticated and well-rounded offering.
