Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong, acidic and musty. Has some sweet hints, including sweet pear notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from acidity and carbonation. Dessert-style apple blend. Some tannins and tang.
After Taste: Becomes a bit more acidic, with more pear-like flavours. Apples remain strong from the start. Semi-long lingering but not over-powering. Some additional tanginess comes though in the aftertaste.
On ice: Slightly cuts carbonation. Other characteristics remain similar.
Additional Notes: Apple forward from start to finish, the first cider offering from Howell Road has a crisp, clean blend of apples. A classic apple cider, it is light and simple to consume – yet with enough tannins and acidity, that add a lot of depth to the drink. Rather clean to drink, it has little residual fermentation flavours that distract or disguise.
