Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong sour apple aroma with hints of sweet candied maple sugar.
Initial Taste: Clean with no bite mouth feel – with strong, crisp, sour apples. Singular flavour apparent.
After Taste: Becomes more acidic and tangy, with some funky elements. Earthy apple syrup flavour shows a little in the aftertaste. Long-lingering with astringency.
On ice: Becomes a lot more bland tasting. Sour elements turns to more tart.
Additional Notes: Starting more crisp and becoming more dry, the Sugar Shack Cider from Farmgate has an acidic and tangy taste – with funky elements that linger for a long time in the aftertaste. The maple flavouring is subtle, but it helps to give this a fuller, more complex flavour. Full bodied, but easy to drink casually.
