Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Mild apple with some musty notes.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Strong, clean apple with woody/oak, natural, funky flavour. Has some tartness and acidity.
After Taste: Becomes a bit more tart and aciditc. Has a funky finish with some sour notes. Long-lingering aftertaste with a semi-dry finish. Natural maple syrup flavour comes through here.
On ice: Dramatically cuts the oaky taste. Has a thinner and lighter profile. Becomes more crisp.
Additional Notes: This wild and rustic offering from Heartwood is a traditional, English Somerset-type cider – with a woodsy, Canadian twist. Full-bodied but still simple, it reflects the farmland it was produced on. The subtle maple flavour doesn’t dominate the semi-dry with wild, sour apple forward profile.
