Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong musty and sour apple smell. Hints of pear aromas.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Astringent, earthy and slightly bitter-tasting. Little apple flavour initially.
After Taste: Becomes malty tasting with sour and golden apple flavours becoming more prominent. Apple juice finish. Not a long-lasting flavour.
On ice: Carbonation bubbles become larger on ice with the cider becoming more crisp and more flat tasting.
Additional Notes: Clafeld Smashed Apple Cider has a sharp bite but not a long-lasting flavour journey. This cider isn’t too complex for the pallet to decipher, but it’s very rudimental in taste and flavour – reminding us of elements of old-world-type ciders.
