Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium apple smell with a mixture of acidic, musty and sweet notes
Initial Taste: Strong acidic bite and flavour. Some musty and bitter notes. Various apple flavour medley detected – including golden delicious and cooking apples.
After Taste: cider taste becomes thick and somewhat syrupy in the mouth. Some bitter notes remain with it becoming sweeter on the palate. Flavour dissipates semi-quickly in the mouth.
On ice: Carbonation is cut on ice. The acidity is cut with the sweetness enhanced.
Additional Notes: Waupoos is a more traditional, easy-drinking cider but is quite unique with very different apple characteristics than big batch, more ‘commercial’ ciders. The aged cider apples give the cider a lot of depth and maturity in flavour. Waupoos is a more crisp cider offering than some of the other County Ciders produced.
