Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma. Bright semi-sharp apples that re crisp and clean. Balanced closely with a red-wine astringency yet still smooth. Some aged notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite with a semi-sharp apple, Also at the same time a juicy red grape. High acidity but clean, its quite dry with some minerality + tannin notes from the skins of both grapes and apples.
After Taste: Apple and grape both linger for a while. Gritty with some sour elements.
On ice: Less carbonation and cleaner – grape weakened.

Additional Notes: The Cidrerie Lacroix Osmose is part of their Série Nature/Natural Series; its a single varietal (Mcintosh) with a brilliant ruby red hue thanks to the grape pomace it was aged on. Its full bodied with a lot going on.  Apple and grape vie for position, with a long lasting aftertaste that has both elements as well. Easier to pick out the Macintosh in the aftertaste.  Bold, it has both dryness as well as some acidity and funk – yet has a clean initial taste.  A lot of peel, it’s much cleaner on ice.
