Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Minerality with some cinnamon. Bright sharp apples. Some funk.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Semi bright apples with some funky upfront. Hints of natural cinnamon that transitions into a “hot” cinnamon. Some maple syrup elements that brings up the sweetness.
After Taste: Apple reduces and leaves a lighter but noticeable cinnamon hearts presence. Very aligned with the spice of the candy heart.
On ice: Reduced body and intensity.
Additional Notes: The Hex 1847 Ye Olde Cupid’s Bow is a cinnamon heart-focused cider. It certainly tastes like the Valentine’s day, with the “hot” cinnamon notes upfront. Not overpowering, it’s balanced with some smooth maple elements. Dessert apples that have a bit of brightness to them. A little funk and sulphur notes in the nose and body, leaving a stale characteristic.
