Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Acidic and cellered apples
Initial Taste: Medium bite from acidity and carbonation. Quick heritage apple-like notes. Highly musty, cellared tasting. Hints of orange notes. Rustic sparkling wine vibes.
After Taste: Mustiness really lingers on the tongue. Somewhat floral bouquet and muddled earthiness. Ends quite dry, aged tasting.
On ice: Thinner mouth-feel. Milder tasting, including a reduction of must.
Additional Notes: The Klaus from Fleuri Cidres might not be for everybody, but fans of aged French Normandy-style cidres will probably like this. Lighter than a Normandy in terms of taste and mouth-feel, it still has that familiar musty, cellared backbone. It’s a modern dry cider with some dank and orange wine notes too. Very sour, it will likely make you pucker. A new-age Quebec cider.
