Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Pulpy and musty crab apple. Rustic and tannic.
Initial Taste: Light bite. Pulpy and tannic apples. Mouthfeel and foam make it seem creamy for the first second. Wild, dank and very musty from aging/cellaring. Lots of acidity. Sourness from crabapples.
After Taste: Becomes a bit cleaner as russet elements emerge. Crab apples stay prominent a while though. Less funk as time goes on. Lingering cellaring notes.
On ice: A little less acidity and sour elements.
Additional Notes: 1818 Cider’s Vulture is a crab apple and golden russet blend, making it very acidic, musty and tannic. A lot of body in this, it’s very sour but even has a touch of a creaminess. Lots of foam when poured, that makes it seem creamy upon first sip. Very flavourful with a lot of tannic and acidic elements. Woody elements are very present. Old world tannins and cellaring (musty) notes, makes it very European-inspired.
