Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Vibrant, juicy apples. Some tannins and sour elements.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from carbonation. Juicy apples that have a bit of funkiness to start that dissipates. Some tannins. A tartness/sourness that builds on the palate for a bit.
After Taste: Apple becomes more intense and more caramelized in the aftertaste. Oak comes in the finish from the barrel.
On ice: Similar elements except less sour and a little cleaner.
Additional Notes: Brooker’s Batch #6 for 2022 (They change year by year), is a wild ferment and barrel-aged juicy apple forward offering made with late foraged apples. It starts off pretty tart and has a sourness that builds for awhile, but then it actually gets cleaner and more caramelized as ends – finishing with almost a juice lingering aftertaste. A unique funkiness and wildness to it, it mellows as you consume it. Swirl the trub – or don’t depending on your preference.
