Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Slightly funky and acetic.Caramel and some toasted notes.
Initial Taste: Light bite with some acidity and bitterness amongst carbonation. Strong woody barreling upfront, some tannic and bold and heavy apple notes that are extra dry and with a natural bitterness.
After Taste: Long-lasting aftertaste with a lot of fermentation and heavily long-lingering acidic notes.
On ice: Slightly less intense.
Additional Notes: Brooker’s Batch #4 Barrel Aged Scrumpy Still from 2022 that has a lot going on. A bold cider, its best suited for the cider enthusiasts because of its depth of notes. It’s a strong farmhouse offering with some bitterness and acidity, which is exaggerated by the non-carbonation. Lots of tannic notes and the barreling is intense, making it long lasting. Very dry, but still a good crispness to it.
