Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Medium aroma. Blended red and white wine. Some tannins and slightly sour/pulpy apple notes.
Initial Taste: Medium bite. Smooth, tannic crab apple followed quickly by a transition to sour and red wine primary characteristics. White wine keeps the red balanced. Very dry with a bit of honey.
After Taste: Apple dissipates and becomes more funky, earthy and wine focused.  Pretty long-lingering. Some wine astringency that stays and is gritty in the finish. .
On ice: Dramatically less sour on ice, more wine like.  Easier to consume.

Additional Notes:  The Collective Arts Brewing Limited X Rosewood Winery and Meadery collaboration called Cross Acres (Red & White edition, aka Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauvignon Blanc) is a gritty, red wine heavy (but not dominate) sour apple cider/wine hybrid.  It starts off with Dabinett, Chisel and Dolgo Crab apples that are creamy but also very punchy sour – and transitions into the red/white wine combination. A touch of honey. Most apples are removed by the end and it’s a long lingering dry wine finish.
