Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong aroma. Semi-funky and sour cherry.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation, Hit with a semi-strong tart and funky cherry with accompanying dry semi-tannic apples. Slightly earthy with some astringency. Hit of spy variety sharpness – mostly fleshy.
After Taste: Apple flavour reduces first, with long lingering dry, earthy cherry that stays on the sides of your mouth. A bit more earthy in the aftertaste.
On ice: Reduced acidity. Otherwise little change.
Additional Notes: Twin Pines’ Hammer Bent Cherry Spy is a seasonal cider that pops with tart Niagara Cherries. A blend of Twin Pines Northern Spy and Ida Red’s, it’s an acidic cider that has a lot of funk to it. A little milder on ice, its only good if you want a reduced acidity. Some earthy elements and not very sweet at all, it has a lot of bittersharp peel notes. A very satisfying amount of local cherry flavours that are a bit tart, but smooth and very easy to drink overall.
