Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright apple with a hint of fermentation. Hint of banana bread.
Initial Taste: Minimal bite. Bright apple with hefeweizen/banana notes. Mild tannins. Mild green apple tartness.
After Taste: Becomes smoother. Bolder elements weaken. Tannins and fermentation notes dwindle. Clean apple finish.
On ice: Thinner mouthfeel. Smoother overall. More “pub cider like”
Additional Notes: Carlisle’s The Harvest Pet Nat has surprising aspects – it has both banana/hefeweizen notes, and also a very clean finish. With a mild sparkle to begin with, it features some tannins and bolder elements, but they dwindle into the aftertaste, becoming cleaner as the cider journey finishes. Does not taste 8.2%, it has some fermentation notes but still is light and breezy for the palate.
