Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Sweet apples with slight watermelon juice – touch of earthiness.
Initial Taste: Light bite from carbonation. Blended mix of watermelon and dessert apples to start. Apple and traditional watermelon dissipate quickly, leaving a rind-like watermelon taste.
After Taste: Earthy herb comes into play, not overly defined but takes over the flavour palate. Somewhat long lingering herb elements with some apple that returns.
On ice: Carbonation reduced. Cleaner with more balanced elements and less apple. Thinner body.
Additional Notes: Lacroix’s Watermelon Basil is a concoction of flavours. A blend of semi-sweet and juicy caramelized apple that mix with an earthy watermelon flavour. Then it changes into a basil/herb focused earthy finish that lingers and is slightly gritty. Some mint-like elements and somewhat thick body. Ice removes a lot of the apple flavour.
