Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Light aroma. Earthy and caramelized apple
Initial Taste: No bite but some acidity that is smokey and a little earthy. Some dank bruised apple and peel notes.
After Taste: Apple becomes softer, more traditional and cleaner in this long last aftertaste. Slightly brighter with a bit of film.
On ice: Smoother and more natural apple notes come though.
Additional Notes: FieldBirds 2018 Golden Russet features both standard and unique golden russet notes in this cider. Starting off a little dank and earthy, it is slightly smokey upfront (a note we’ve observed in some other golden russet single varietal ciders but not all we’ve had) and those elements dissipate revealing a cleaner, smoother apple in the long-lasting aftertaste. For a high ABV and still cider (no carbonation), it’s very easy to drink (especially compared to other FieldBirds) so watch out as its 9.5%. Its a dry cider but bright and uplifting.
