Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong earthy, sour and astringent aroma.  Cellared smelling.
Initial Taste: Mild bite from acidity. Quickly sour and pungent with cellared-like mustiness.
After Taste: As the sourness dissipates, it becomes creamier.  Some light lemon notes.  Harshness does not stay long, leaving some creamy elements lingering.
On ice: Ice brings out some oxidization notes, becomes harsher to drink.  Reduces carbonation.

Additional Notes: Called a Spanish-style sour, the Legend of the Fall is a mid-way mix between an old-world traditional Spanish sidra and some new world cocktail sours and bitters elements. Musty with a puckering taste, the West Avenue crew has created something very unique for the Ontario market.  Not apple forward, it’s driven by the fermentation, aging and bottling process but still quite consumable. Slightly more sour and dry in review from 2021.
